superbly suspenseful: say no more by liliana hart

the mysterious dante malcolm leads up say no more, the third book in the gravediggers series. unlike deacon and elias, dante has held himself apart from the team even as he is clearly a vital part of it. the reasons for this become clear early on in the novel.

dante has special skills, he was an mi6 agent, but also a thief in his previous life. so part of his role within the gravediggers team is also to run side missions for their boss, eve. the thing is, dante's past life is still very much alive for him. giving up his career, both legitimate and illegitimate was one thing, but it was giving up the great love of his life that still haunts him.

olivia rothschild is no stranger to tragedy and loss. losing dante, someone who had lied and betrayed her was one thing. another was losing her identical twin sister, who was kidnapped when they were 6 and was never recovered. liv has made it her career to find her sister, joining interpol right out of school, and when dante's betrayal cast a pall on her career it was more than his lies that she found unforgivable. but when a human trafficking case puts her on a collision course with dante's latest side project for eve. all the secrets dante has been keeping are about to come out into the open.

i liked dante and liv's story, its a true second chance at love romance with a good amount of suspense added in. the one issue i had was that there was a lot of setup about who dante was and how he and liv got together, but not enough time was spent on reconciliation. not between liv and dante or dante and his team members. things ended where i hoped they would, so it's fine. but i think that one thing the darkest corner did that worked so well was set up this underlying tension between eve and the gravediggers and what the mission is truly. and while there is still some of that, the individual suspense plot gets more airtime that the suspense plot that overarches the series. and that's fine, it's just that i think the first book did a better job of balancing this than the subsequent books have, and i hope that the next books—i'm assuming levi and axel will get their own stories—will balance it better. i think it's also because i like the way the team works together, and even though they finally got there in this one, there is still residual tension from dante's revelations that aren't fully dealt with and they were all separated into different pairings. anyway, i like the gravediggers, i want to see more of them.

Praise for Say No More, Book 3:

The third Gravediggers contemporary romantic thriller (after Gone to Dust) continues Hart’s winning formula of combining high adventure and espionage with steamy sex...Globetrotting from France to Last Stop, Tex. (home of the Gravediggers), to the British Virgin Islands, Hart’s high-tempo thriller never lets up. Fans will enjoy her employment of the entire Gravedigger team, who sat out much of the last book, as they stay one step ahead of the enemy.”—Publishers Weekly

“[Say No More] by terrific talent Hart is a caper thriller where the stakes are life and death. Hart has built a compelling world…Each of these books builds on the characters of the previous novels, which adds emotional and psychological depth. With plenty of action, danger and romance, this is a book a romantic suspense fan can really sink their teeth into.”—RT

Praise for Gone to Dust, Book 2:

Lucky fans of the super-talented Hart don’t have to wait long for the second installment of her new romantic suspense series Gravediggers, as the installments are being released back to back. In the first book, Hart set up her world where five men, declared dead to the world at large, work for a super-secret anti-terrorism force. Hart’s new heroine is a very talented romance writer who takes no crap from anyone — even secret commandos. Miller and Elias are both funny and sexy together, which helps make this book nonstop entertainment, with plenty of witty bantering and thrilling adventure!”—RT 4 ½ star TOP PICK Review

Modern Cliterature...Enjoy [this] lusty [passage] adapted from summer’s raciest reads…”—Cosmopolitan, July 2017

Gritty, deadly, and peppered with unexpected humor, this supersexy, adrenaline-charged story will keep readers on edge and breathless until the last page.”—Library Journal

Liliana Hart sets up a fascinating and intriguing premise of individual men forced into taking extreme steps. Her heroine’s reluctant immersion into this world allows readers to discover the treachery and danger looming all around…a thrilling series!”—RT

A cool blend of entertaining antics and suspenseful moments, with a slightly morbid sense of humor thrown in for good measure. (Our heroine was a mortician, after all!) I had a blast getting to know this cast of characters and can’t wait to see what exciting things Liliana Hart has in store for us next.”—Harlequin Junkie

SYNOPSIS

Return to New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Liliana Hart’s romantic suspense series, the Gravediggers, with SAY NO MORE, the thrilling game of cat and mouse between a member of the Gravediggers and the brilliant woman hot on his heels.

The Gravediggers aren’t exactly what they seem. They’re the most elite of the world’s fighting forces—and all they have in common is that they’ve been betrayed by the countries they’ve died for. Because they are dead. To their country, their military, and their families. Sometimes the dead do rise…

Dante Malcolm is a man of refined tastes. He was once a part of Britain’s elite intelligence force, but his double life eventually caught up with him. There was a reason he’d never been able to capture Simon Locke, a notorious thief who always seemed to be one step ahead. Dante was Simon, and eventually his extracurricular activities cost him his life, and he now belongs to the Gravediggers.

Liv Rothschild is a detective inspector with Interpol and the woman responsible for catching M16’s most notorious agent in his final heist—the heist that killed him. But something about his death has never sat right with her, and she’s been haunted by it for months. It was too easy, and Dante Malcolm was too smart to go down that way.

Dante might belong to the Gravediggers, but his heart and soul will always belong to the next job—each one with a bigger payout and more dangerous than the last. The rest of the team doesn’t know about his alter ego, because he made sure the information went missing from his file. So when the job he’s waited his whole life for seems like a possibility, he sneaks out of the country like a thief in the night, only to run into the one woman who’s ever been able to match him in brilliance—and passion—for the job. The problem is they’re standing on opposite sides of the law—and only one of them can walk away with the prize.

simply catching up on all things general hospital

hmmm, it's been months since i've blogged about gh . partly this is due to the fact that i fell behind while i was traveling. partly because all the outrage lapsed into disinterest when i realized i couldn't bring myself to care anymore and everything that was happening was just so trite and boring. some days i still feel that way. and there are still whole storylines that i either hate or just fast forward through. but there are some good things too. in no particular order, here are my thoughts on the goings-on in port charles: 1. soras [and why re-casting roles works on soaps even if you do miss the original actors]: the new, older versions of sonny's kids are turning out to be quite enjoyable. [although hilariously, cameron whom i believe is older than molly is now younger. and because cameron is so cute, i'm kind of hoping they won't fix that. we also haven't seen spencer in ages, so he may be approaching 50.] in any case, at this point we've only s

We can erase all of our preconceived notions of society and law and even science, throwing all of that over the side of a cliff.
